It is a bright tomato to brown/red colour with dark stripes of variable width on its sides.
They have an unpleasant skin secretion. Wear gloves when working with them

DESCRIPTION: These frogs originate from Southern South America. They possess a large squatting body and large head. They are brown or green in colour with red markings and have a readiness to bite. They are very inactive and live in solitude.
ADULT SIZE: 3-6 inches and are often as wide as they are long.
LIFE SPAN: 16 years +
RATING: Suitable for those with experience
DIET: Crickets, minnows, goldfish. Feed dead rodents occasionally. Vitamin and mineral supplements are essential.
HABITAT: A woodland terrarium set-up is ideal. Use a wet substrate and provide clumps of moss and plants and rocks for hiding.

DESCRIPTION: This quite large and relatively smooth skinned frog has a jade green back, greenish lips and folds above the eyes. They will live in small groups.

DIET: Crickets, mealworms and an occasional pinkie mouse.
